The MA Series represents a new pinnacle in power amps. We can proudly and confidently state that the MA Series is the best amplifier that we’ve ever built (and perhaps that anyone has ever built). Ashly’s proprietary D-MAX™ technology (first implemented in the CA Series) takes Class D performance and efficiency to a whole new level. By starting with a clean slate, our engineers were able to throw away the old rule book and apply cutting-edge design practices and state-of-the-art components to achieve something truly unique.

Power amp users have become more familiar with and have even demanded power-sharing in recent years- the feature that allows the amplifier to balance power between channels to match asymmetrical speaker loads. That can prove useful when designing systems. Though there are other amplifiers that incorporate power-sharing, most of these require DSP to be set up in the proper configuration, and those that don’t are very limited in the way they can work.

The MA Series advanced Power Sharing technology changes all that.

The MA Series’ Advanced Artificially Intelligent Power Sharing system not only automatically allocates power across multiple channels to meet load demands but learns the conditions as they change from moment to moment and adapts to anticipate those demands. Unlike other systems, MAs intelligent power-sharing responds instantly to changes so, power “borrowed” from one channel will be quickly returned to those channels when needed. MA can share power across each group of four channels. So, a 4 x 250W model can become a single 500W amp plus + 2 x 250W, without needing to reconfigure anything (just turn on Power-Sharing using the rear-panel switch). Power-Sharing also can function with bridged channels. On a 4 x 500W model, bridged 500W channel pairs can deliver 1,000W and with power-sharing engaged, a single channel can be driven up to 2,000W!
When your situation changes, MA is ready with the power when and where you need it!

This adaptive AI-based power-sharing capability is the first of its kind in ANY power amplifier, let alone a non-DSP one. Another Ashly innovation.

The MA Series is by far the most efficient amp we’ve built and tested thus far. The pay-off is less heat, lower noise and distortion, more stable operation, and greater reliability. In fact, they run so cool, that bulky heat sinks found in most other amplifiers are no longer required. Instead, we were able to optimize active air cooling using our newly developed SailFlow™ design, which moves the air along a selective path, to where it’s needed most. Coupled with our new Ashly-engineered ultra-high-speed switching power-supply, the use of high-speed, lossless Silicone-Carbide switches and intelligent power management, the end-result is nothing short of stunning.

All the transient impact and spatial detail of your sound is preserved, and your speakers will never be happier. Light-weight and power-efficient, MA will never pull more power than your wall outlet delivers. No more worry about driving speakers to the brink of destruction or tripping breakers. For example, you can operate as many as three of the MA2508s (12,000W total) on a single 20A service! That’s more efficient than any other currently available amp we’ve tested! Lastly, this translates into power cost savings as well, since MA’s do more work while drawing less power than other amplifiers, lowering user’s electrical bills and HVAC requirements.

When current and voltage are exactly in phase, current demand is reduced and efficiency increased. Dynamic Power Factor Correction tracks current continuously to maintain accurate monitoring & control.
Silicon Carbide semiconductors boost both speed and efficiency.

Another important part of Dynamic Power Factor Correction is our use of a new cutting-edge semiconductor that is significantly faster than the old-school pure silicon that our competitors use.
Traditional silicon semiconductors don’t shut off instantly. They have a lag time called “switching loss”, leading to a residual tail current (red portions in the drawing at left). From an audio quality standpoint, this makes for a sloppier, less precise sound; from an efficiency standpoint it sucks up unnecessary power.

Instead, we are pioneering the use of Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductors. They have unique electrical characteristics that render them able to switch on and off far faster than conventional silicon. The result is an amplifier design that’s faster ( thus better audio fidelity) AND more efficient.

With selectable Multi-mode operation per channel, the MA Series fits a wider range of applications than most other amplifiers. In multi-zone, multi-use configurations, the MA is truly unbeatable. Taken individually or in bridged mode, MAs can supply from 250W to 1,000W for a single channel (even more when power sharing is engaged) in low Z (2, 4 & 8 Ohms) or constant voltage (25/70 or 100V) which can be selected per channel. MA amps are designed to excel in performance installations, such as theaters, school auditoriums and Houses of Worship. Power-hungry sub-woofers? No problem. MA does 2 Ohms lying down. However, with multi-mode operation, you can also select 25, 70 & 100V operation. MA also has more integration-friendly features than you’d typically find on many amplifiers, and with 4 and 8-channel models to choose from they are also right at home in the most demanding multi-zone commercial installations.

Available in 4 & 8-channel configurations with 250W or 500W per channel, there’s an MA that’s right for your project. Push them hard. They can take it. MA amps can drive longer and louder than amps twice their rated power and cost. Powerful. Clean. Reliable. That’s Ashly’s MA Series.
